Week of January 14th

Bible Story: Jesus Chooses 12 Disciples  (John 1:35-51)

Memory Work: "Come follow Me," Jesus said.  Matthew 4:19

Enrichment: Numbers

Math: Numbers 0-5

Something New:  This year we will be having a book exchange at our Valentine's Day Party.  Instead of bringing Valentines to share with everyone.  Your child will bring 1 book, not to exceed more that $10.00.  You may wrap it up and put a tag on it so we know who it's from.  We will put a number on the books as they come in so that at exchange time each child will draw a number and be given the book with the matching number.  We will have a master list so that no child gets the book he or she brought.  We will still play games, have a snack, and make a craft or two on our party day as well as exchange our books.  We hope you will enjoy this change of tradition.  If you have questions, please ask Mrs. Sistrunk or Mrs. Schwisow.  Thanks for being flexible.

National Lutheran Schools Week: January 27-February 1 is National Lutheran Schools Week.  We will have an Open House on Thursday, January 31 from 6:00-7:00pm.  Watch the News Slice for other activities and Book Fair times during the week.

Indoor Olympics:  National Lutheran Schools Week ends with Indoor Olympics on Friday, February 1st.   This is an early release day and all students will be dismissed by 11:15.  PK invites all of our students, both morning and afternoon to attend in the morning.  Watch for a note of explanation and request for volunteer helpers to make our games run smoothly.  We need at least 6 coaches(volunteers) so that we can have a coach for every team.  Please ask questions if you have them.  It really is a fun day!!
