About Me

Mrs. Schwisow and Mrs. Sistrunk
Mrs. Debbie Schwisow graduated Summa Cum Laude from Concordia College (now Concordia University) in Portland, OR with a BA in Elementary Education. She taught Kindergarten at BLS from 1983-1985. She then retired to raise their 3 children. In 1996 she began teaching preschool at Bethlehem Lutheran School and is in her 15th year of teaching preschool. Debbie is married to Jay and they have two children in college. Their oldest son, a Diesel Tech, works in Ferndale, WA. Fun fact: Debbie attended BLS Kindergarten through 8th grade and started teaching Preschool in the room where she attended Kindergarten.

Mrs. Sistrunk has spent the last 15 years assisting Preschool teacher Debbie Schwisow. Prior work experience included work at a Montessori preschool, Bible Study Fellowship, children's leader, CBC Co-operative Preschool, and 15 years as a Kindergarten Sunday School teacher. She was blessed with a 30 year marriage to her best friend, Jeff, has three children, three grandchildren and two on the way. Fun fact: she started out in business, but with the birth of her first child she realized she wanted to work in early childhood education.
