REMINDERS:
·
Remember to write your name on all of your
papers.
·
Check the weather. Draw a simple picture if you like. (For example: a sun for sunny, a cloud for
cloudy, a cloud with some curly lines for windy and a rain drop for rainy. OR you could decide to just draw a lion for a
wild weather day and a lamb for a calm and sunny (gentle) weather day.
·
Figure out the day of the week and read the
number – “Today is Wednesday, March 25th,2020 and we have been in
school 123 days.
·
Do cross-over exercises. Touch your left hand to your right ear. Touch your right hand to your left ear so
your arms are across your body. Uncross
arms and shake them out. Now touch your
left hand to your right shoulder and your right hand to your left
shoulder. You’ve made an X. Uncross and shake out your arms. Continue repeating the pattern touching your
elbows, hips, knees, and feet.
·
Practice opposites. Try to name at least 5 every day. Add more as you think of them.
·
Help your child to continue to hear initial
sounds of words. Ask him/her to tell you
what sound he/she hears when you say a word.
3.
Make a list of 5 words that begin with
the “Ll” sound.
Scholastic: My Big World with Clifford paper
A Teeny Tiny Nest
Read the first page of the
paper. Open up the paper to show the
hummingbird story. If you have a small
jellybean, show it to your child so that he/she can see the actual size of a
hummingbird egg. Try flapping after
reading the Read and Learn part of the paper. Complete page 4 following the directions.
4.
Math: Length
1).
Partner with your child.
·
Each partner start from the same base line and
then jump forward.
·
Place a flat manipulative to mark where each
person landed.
·
Measure how far each of you jumped by taping a
string at the base line, stretching the string to where you landed and cutting
the string at the landing point. Do this
for both people jumping.
·
Compare your jumps to determine who jumped a
longer distance and who jumped a shorter distance. Do it again with different family members.
2). Give your child a ruler (If you don’t have a
ruler, use an unsharpened pencil).
Explain that people use rulers to measure length. Have your child find and sort objects in your
house that are longer than, shorter than, or the same size as the ruler.
5.
Bible Story: Jesus Dies and Arises (Matthew 27-28)
Fingers Tell the Story:
·
Clap Your Hands
Clap your hands, shout “Hooray!” Jesus takes my sins away.
When things go wrong, I stop and pray. God, I need your love today.
God loves me. God
loves you. God helps me forgive you, too.
Clap your hands.
Smile and say, “God forgives me!”
Shout “Hooray!”
·
Act out the story today. Wear cross necklaces (paper crosses on a
string) and other jewelry, table settings, flower center piece, Easter place
mats(outline plate, and silverware on plain place mats for a matching
experience), streamers and tape(show children where they can safely attach
tape). “Bake” pretend treats out of
playdough or collect items from your child’s play kitchen. Say, “We celebrate that Jesus is alive. We celebrate that Jesus loves us and forgives
our sins.
·
After acting out the story sing, “Jesus is
Alive” to the tune “Farmer in the Dell.”
Jesus is alive, Jesus
is alive! We can clap in praise to God,
Jesus is alive!
Sing
the song several more times replacing clap with other actions. (Stomp, wave, twirl, jump, and so on.)
Prayer:
Dear Jesus, Thank you for dying
and rising to take away my sins. Thank
you for loving me. You are in
control. Please keep me and my family
safe. We love you, Jesus. Amen.
