End of the week BONUS
Memory Game
Things you will need:
1. Cookie sheet or tray
2. Four to 10 items that will fit on the cookie
sheet or tray all at the same time
3.
Something to cover over all the items. For example: a towel, small blanket, pillowcase…you
get the idea.
To Begin:
1.
Place 4 or 5 items on the tray.
2.
Have your child look at the items; discuss an
attribute or 2 about each item.
3.
Cover the items.
4.
Secretly, so your child doesn’t see it, remove
an item and keep it hidden from your child.
5.
Uncover the items. Have your child tell you which item is
missing. As you play the game, add more
items to challenge your child. When you
have many items on your tray, maybe try removing more than one item and have
your child tell you what’s missing.
*Have your child count the number of items
on the tray as you increase the number from 4 or 5 items to 10 or more. Even if your child can’t remember what’s
missing, he/she should be able to tell you how many items are missing by
counting the number of items that are left on the tray.
Have Fun!! If your child doesn’t like the game, don’t
play. Try it again later.
*Remember items can be toys, things from the
kitchen, manipulatives, things from the office, and so on.
