Projects: From the bag – the two large paper painted
Easter eggs and second, the three paper plates paper clipped together.
The Large Paper Painted Easter
Eggs: We were going to sew and stuff
them with our buddies. Now you get to help
your child do that.
Option #1: Place the eggs back to back with the painted
sides facing out. Staple around the outer
edge of the egg, leaving an opening to stuff the egg with some crinkled
paper. After stuffing continue stapling
the egg closed. Add a piece of yarn or
string at the top for hanging.
Option #2: Place the eggs back to back with the painted
sides facing out. Place clothes around
the egg to keep the two sides together and use a paper punch to punch holes
around the edge of the egg about 4” apart.
Cut a long piece of yarn or string.
Place tape around one end of the string to keep the end from fraying and
to act as a needle while you help your child sew around the edge of the
egg. Before sewing the egg closed add
some crinkled paper for stuffing. Continue
sewing the egg closed and create a loop for hanging.
The Three Paperclipped Plates: (Your
child’s might be colorful. If not, have
your child watercolor paint or color the plates before completing the project.)
·
On one of the paper plates help your child draw
a cross
·
On another paper plate help your child draw a
heart
·
On the third plate, write the letter “U” or spell
out the word “you”.
·
Use a paper punch to punch a hole at the top and
bottom of the plates with the cross and the heart. Punch a hole only at the top of the third
plate.
·
Look in the small Ziploc bag and take out 2 brad
fasteners. Connect the bottom of the
cross plate with the top of the heart plate.
Connect the bottom of the heart plate to the top of the “U” or “you”
plate. All 3 plates should now be connected
in a vertical line. Attach a string at
the top of the plate with the cross for hanging.
7.
Bible Story: The Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20)
If you picked up your bag, you
will find a white paper that says Chalk Talk The Great Commission. Use this page to tell you Bible story
today. If you didn’t pick up your bag,
read the story verses from your Bible.
Conclude: Everyone needs to know about Jesus, even
our family and our friends. When we go
and tell we are passing God’s love on to those who do not yet believe in
Him. But we can even pass God’s love on
to each other.
Sing: “Jesus Is Our Friend” sung
to the tune of “The Farmer In the Dell.”
Jesus is our Friend, Jesus is
our Friend,
Go, tell, and share the news.
Jesus is our Friend.
Jesus died and rose, Jesus died
and rose.
Go, tell, and share the news.
Jesus died and rose.
Jesus loves us so, Jesus loves
us so.
Go, tell, and share the news.
Jesus loves us so.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, help us to do our best to go and
tell others about You. Amen
