yourself. Find the white book with your child's name on the front. Draw a picture of what you look like today. Don’t forget your hair, ears, arms, feet,
smile, and so on.
5.
Math: Collecting Data
·
Collect the following data about your family.
·
How many boys?
How many girls? How many pets?
·
Find the graph paper that is in your bag of
supplies. You will need just 1 sheet
today.
·
Help your child graph the results of his/her
data. Orient the graph paper vertically.
Use a blue color crayon to represent the boys, a purple crayon for the girls
and a brown crayon for pets. Starting
with the bottom left square and building on top of each other, color a blue
square for each boy in your family.
Moving one square to the right at the bottom of the graph and building
on top of each other, color a purple square for each girl in your family. Move over one more square to the right and
building on top of each other, color a brown square for each pet. If the number your child counts is zero,
leave that column blank. (No coloring)
·
Look at your graph. Which color is the tallest? Shortest? How do you know?
6.
May Day: Find the paper in your letter Ii packet that
says, “May Day Bouquet Craft”.
·
Follow the directions outlined in the
description or make up your own ideas.
7. Bible
Story: Jesus’ Ascension (Acts 3:1-12;
Matthew 28:20)
Memory Work: Jesus said, “I am with you always.” Matthew 28:20
Props: You
will need your “mystery picture” that you made earlier this week or make it now
without your child seeing how you do it.
Take a white piece of paper and using a white crayon, write the Bible memory
verse on the piece of paper. You will
need to press firmly as you write out the Bible verse so that the crayon will
resist the watercolor paint.
·
Briefly review the story from Tuesday’s script.
·
Say, I can’t see Jesus right now. But I can see what He does for me. He blesses me with all that I need. What does Jesus give? What is the best thing Jesus did for you?
·
Yes, the best thing Jesus did was to die on
the cross to take away our sins. But
Jesus became alive and is with us today.
He loves and forgives us.
·
I can’t see Him, but I can listen to
Jesus. I can hear His words in the
Bible. (Have your child watercolor paint over the “mystery picture” to
reveal the Bible verse.) Continue by saying, Listen to what He says
to us. Read the revealed Bible verse
to your child.
·
Ask: How
can we talk to Jesus? (In prayer)
Prayer: Dear Jesus, wherever I go and whatever I do,
help me to remember you are always with me.
Amen.
*Remember, you can do a little or a lot. These are suggestions to help your child stay
on track for Kindergarten in this challenging time. Mrs. Sistrunk and I appreciate any of your
efforts.
